One of four temples being revived at the Avanamkulam complex

Avanamkulam Vanashasta Temple, part of the Avanamkulam complex in Kuttipuram, Malappuram, was destroyed during the invasions of Tipu Sultan.

The presence of Vanashasta, an aspect of the deity Shasta worshipped across Kerala, was identified during Devaprashnam rituals at the site. Shilanyas (foundation-laying) was performed on 31 October 2022, and the Garbhagriha is now complete.
