Avanamkulam Bhadrakali Temple

Bhadrakali Edachalam, Kuttipuram, Malappuram, Kerala
About this temple

One of four temples being revived at the Avanamkulam complex

Avanamkulam Bhadrakali Temple, part of the Avanamkulam temple complex in Kuttipuram, Malappuram, was destroyed during the invasions of Tipu Sultan in the 18th century.

A Devaprashnam conducted at the site revealed a strong presence of the Goddess in Her fierce form, leading to the decision to build a dedicated sanctum for Bhadrakali alongside the complex's other three temples. The Garbhagriha is now complete.
