Odappallam Kiratha Shiva Parvathy temple

Odappallam Kirata Shiva Parvathy temple is an ancient temple in Sulthan bathery of Wayanad district Kerala. The temple was destroyed during the invasion of Tipu Sultan and the land was alienated.

An ancient Shivlinga belonging to the temple was later found in the village. The Shivlinga is now housed in a temporary structure called Balalaya and worshipped.

Astrological calculations and insights were gathered through Devaprashna by experts in Kshetra tantra. The Shivlinga has Lord Shiva in Kirata bhava and His Consort as Twarita Parvathy. In this bhava , both Shiva and Parvati are very favorable to devotees who pray to them.

UgraNarasimha Charitable Trust is undertaking the restoration of this ancient temple.

The revival will start after 2023 Shivratri celebrations.
